The Sapporo Snow Festival is a major winter event in Japan, which attracts more and more visitors from Japan, as well as from abroad. Artists present many amazing snow and ice sculptures. The seven days event opens in February.





Hokkaido hot spring resort offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the most natural pleasure. Famous pictures of macaque monkeys soaking in hot water are taken in Jigokudani Monkey Park, which is about a few hours away from Sapporo by plane.






Sapporo ski resorts provide even more winter activities. Many skiing and snowboarding destinations are situated near the city center. The Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium is a famous ski jumping venue with a 120 meters K-spot.
