Buzludzha Monument, Stara Planina, Bulgaria. Opened in 1981 on the 1441 m high Buzludzha peak, the monument was built to pay homage to the fights between the Bulgarians and Turks. The impressive monument is 107 m high.
The monument however is no longer used and is abandoned, since it is a symbol of a long gone communism. But its futuristic interiors, that look like a spaceship, attract visitors and adventurers. The pictures of the monument look out of this world.

Located in the mountains of Buzludzha National Park and surrounded with beautiful nature, the monument is of an architectural and historic significance.
When to go there?
In summer, when the surroundings are not covered in snow and it is easy to reach.
How to get there?
It is situated 12 km from the Shipka Pass.
